Location: Mackay, Queensland

Contract: Full or Part Time PERMANENT / LOCUM contract considered (12+weeks)

As a Mental Health Clinician, you’ll provide client-centered care within the Stepped Care Model, offering assessment, treatment, and case coordination for clients of all ages and levels of complexity. You’ll work with a broad range of clients, including children, adults, older persons, and individuals facing challenges such as drug and alcohol issues.

Key Responsibilities

Counselling & Case Management:

  • Deliver evidence-based psychological therapies tailored to moderate and high-intensity needs, including single-session, group, and individual interventions.
  • Provide care for a wide range of clients across the lifespan, addressing challenges such as drug and alcohol issues.
  • Collaborate with other health professionals in case management to ensure clients’ holistic needs are met.

Community Engagement:

  • Travel to rural and remote communities to deliver both face-to-face and telehealth services.
  • Build respectful, trusting relationships with clients, stakeholders, and community members to foster meaningful outcomes.

Service Delivery:

  • Provide flexible, tailored services based on the complexity and severity of client needs.
  • Contribute to an integrated care model that supports clients with wrap-around services, including clinical care coordination.
  • Respond to referrals quickly, with a goal to provide appointments within two weeks.

Policy & Practice Development:

  • Uphold professional, ethical, and organizational standards while ensuring cultural competence.
  • Actively contribute to the team’s commitment to innovation and excellence in mental health care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, reporting outcomes in line with funding agreements.

Skills & Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in psychology, mental health social work, occupational therapy, or nursing, with appropriate registration or accreditation.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality mental health services, including assessment, prevention, treatment, and intervention.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with diverse individuals, teams, and communities.
  • A valid C class driver’s license and a willingness to travel to rural and remote areas.
  • Current Blue and Yellow Cards (or NDIS Worker Screening) or eligibility to obtain.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in not-for-profit or regional settings.
